Today would have been Kenny Kirkland’s 56th birthday… not a week goes by where I don’t miss him, and make it a point to listen to his music… I’m continually surprised by how many young piano players have no idea about the genius of Doctone… I scanned this photo years ago from a Jazziz magazine, and while I noted that the photo was taken at the Beacon Theater in 1991, I neglected to write down the photographer… my apologies for the lack of credit for this fabulous photo of one of my heroes… you are missed, Kenny…
